MAG. by Lifestyle: Can you tell us something about your culinary journey and how you achieved a Michelin star?
Chef Guillaume Iskandar: My culinary journey began in France, where I trained and worked in several prestigious restaurants. After a few years of hard work and collaborating with some of the best chefs in the world, I was awarded a Michelin star. This was a confirmation of my efforts and an encouragement to continue enhancing my culinary skills and exploring new techniques and ingredients.
What inspired you to join Mudra Art Cuisine restaurant in Kotor?
Chef Guillaume Iskandar: Mudra Art Cuisine offered me a unique opportunity to work in a beautiful setting right by the sea, with stunning views and a special energy. Additionally, Montenegro is rich in local ingredients that I wanted to explore and incorporate into my menu.

How would you describe the concept of Mudra Art Cuisine, and what makes it unique?
Chef Guillaume Iskandar: Mudra Art Cuisine is a place where art and cuisine come together. Our goal is to create a culinary experience that engages all the senses. Each dish is carefully crafted using local and seasonal ingredients and presented as a work of art.
How important are local ingredients in your cuisine, and how have you incorporated them into your menu?
Chef Guillaume Iskandar: Local ingredients are the essence of my culinary approach. I believe that the quality of ingredients is crucial for creating exceptional dishes. By collaborating with local producers and fishermen, we select the finest products that Kotor and its surroundings have to offer. This not only provides guests with an authentic experience but also supports the local community.
How would you describe the energy and atmosphere of Mudra Art Cuisine restaurant?
Chef Guillaume Iskandar: Mudra Art Cuisine has a unique, relaxing, and inspiring energy. Our seaside location allows guests to enjoy beautiful views while savoring our dishes. We strive to ensure that every detail, from the decor to the music, contributes to creating an unforgettable experience.

What are your future plans for Mudra Art Cuisine?
Chef Guillaume Iskandar: Our plan is to continue enhancing our menu and organize culinary events and workshops to provide our guests with an unforgettable gastronomic experience.
How do you handle the challenges of working in a restaurant that is part of a 5-star hotel?
Chef Guillaume Iskandar: Working in a restaurant within a 5-star hotel comes with high expectations and demanding standards. It is crucial to maintain exceptional quality in both service and food, which requires constant attention to detail and professionalism. Organization and team coordination are essential, and adapting to the luxury environment means meeting the daily needs of guests at the highest level. Fortunately, with the support of a great team, we are able to overcome these challenges and provide an outstanding experience for all our guests.
What advice would you give to young chefs who want to achieve success in the culinary field?
Chef Guillaume Iskandar: Never stop learning and exploring. Be dedicated, patient, and willing to work hard. Most importantly, love what you do, because only then can you create something truly special.
