Behind seas and mountains there lies the frost
In the ancient times, when the Arabs still roamed Sicily, tales were told of frozen drinks akin to ice cream, preserved in the crevices of Mount Etna, sweetened with sugar cane from Persia. These populations indulged in cold beverages, known as sherbet, featuring distilled fruit juices infused with lemon, orange, pomegranate, cherry, and tamarind.
Over time, through Italy, over seven mountains and seven seas to Montenegro arrived the famed variation of this Italian sorbet (fruit ice cream), alongside the classic and beloved gelato.

Inspired by the family tradition of gelato making, Bojana Otašević, the founder of Mille Baci, in 2018 opened her modest workshop to fuse flavors.
This was a brave entrepreneurial move, fueled by the enormous enthusiasm that came really well in her end-products. Having a career in diplomacy and living in Rome for quite a long time, gave her a confidence and new perspective of coming back home and starting her own business.
Her series of popsicle ice creams, named after global cities, almost evoke the memoirs of her personal travels and experiences in those areas. For instance, New York is triangular, crafted in two shades of dark chocolate, reminiscent of the glassy facades of its towering avenues. In contrast, Rio de Janeiro is depicted in three warm hues, with a kiwi center reminiscent of the bustling Ipanema beach teeming with tourists.
